Wholistic development & promotion of the hearing impaired persons.
St. Francis School for the Hearing Impaired is a Nonprofit Faith based organisation registered with the Ministry of Education in Kenya. It is owned and managed by the Little Sisters of St Francis (LSOSF).The school was instituted in 2010 with 5 learners. Upto now, over 40 learners have finished their primary school national exam KCPE and are continuing in high schools and other learning institutions.
Due to poverty and stigma related to disability as well as lack of awareness of the ability of the Deaf children to learn and excel, many children who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH),are not in school. To ensure that children and youth living with disabilities get equitable opportunities to learn, we carry out continuous community sensitisation to create awareness across the year. Seek partnerships and support various stakeholders, local and international, to realise this dream. We practice crop and animal farming and garment production as an entrepreneurship for sustainability.
